Open Muscle Sensor Band

About the project

The 12-sensor Open Muscle band is a key component in Open Muscle's prosthetic sensor suite. It integrates Pressure Myography (PMG) custom pressure sensors to monitor muscle contractions in real-time, primarily for controlling prosthetic movements using machine learning.

Story

The Open Muscle Sensor Band is a part of the open source and open hardware project called 'The Open Muscle Dev Kit V1'. These are open source tools that enable anyone to build a pressure sensor band that utilizes supervised machine learning with the open muscle labeler to train a model to predict finger movement from reading the 12 sensors on the forearm.

This system utilizes ESP32s and UDP packets alongside ESPNow packets for setup and calibration.
