The Rev2 Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense is actually an Upgrade
The Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense has been upgraded to the Rev2 version, and it's packed with the same goodness the Rev1 had, plus some upgrades. If you are looking for a budget TinyML equipped board with a range of onboard sensing capabilities it still looks like one of the best bang for your buck boards available.
So, what exactly are the changes in the Rev2 version? First, the board has a new humidity sensor with a 0-100% RH measurement range, making it ideal for indoor air quality monitoring. Plus, the pressure sensor has been changed to include a range of 30kPa to 110kPa, making it easier to use in a broader range of applications.
Another exciting update is the inclusion of a high-performance 6-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, which enables the board to accurately measure motion and orientation in real-time. The microphone has also been upgraded to an MP34DT01, a better quality, high sensitivity MEMS microphone. Most of the changes are designed to preserve the good points of the Rev1, but there are some improvements.
The power supply is now more efficient, and a solder jumper has now been added for VUSB on the top side of the board for easy access to 5v output (note that the video above mentions USB, this was an error).
But that's not all! The new board comes equipped with a powerful Nordic nRF52833 processor, which ensures smooth and efficient running of complex models, and Edge Impulse has supported this chip for a while, providing some great tutorial materials. Additionally, the board is incredibly compact and has low power consumption, making it perfect for portable projects that require long battery life.
Overall, the new changes in the Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense Rev2 make it an impressive TinyML development board, perfect for creating innovative projects that push the limits of what's possible.
