Join the 20th Anniversary Create the Future Design Contest
The Create the Future Design Contest is now accepting entries for its 20th installment. Launched in 2002 by Tech Briefs magazine, it's since seen tens of thousands of entries from all over the world. In a post on its website, Create the Future just announced an open call for entries to the 2022 contest.
You can enter as an individual or a group in a variety of categories including Sustainable Technologies, Consumer Product Design, Medical, and Automotive. There are a number of prize categories available, including a grand prize of $25,000 chosen by a judging panel, and a "magnetic inspired prize package" courtesy of Nanoport for the most popular prizes - as voted for by the public.
Create the Future is one of the biggest design contests out there and is sponsored by Mouser, Comsol, Analog Devices among others. To enter the competition, or to vote on entries as they come in, create a free account on the Create the Future website.
A Place for Ideas
The Create the Future contest always attracts some of the most interesting and innovative projects, and while the large prize pool is a clear draw, it also comes down to the sheer variation of projects you can submit. If you can fit your idea into one of the categories, you can start working n your plan. You don need a prototype to get started, but you might find that trying out the basics of the hardware with an Arduino or Raspberry Pi might help you visualize your project.
The full guidelines for submitting your proposal to the Create the Future contest can be found on the contest rules page. Don't forget, alongside large yearly contests like this, prizes are given every month for the top three projects published on the Electromaker website!
