Elegoo 4 in 1 Resin Tank Kit Review
I'm a huge fan of 3D printing. Though I've got three 3D printers, an Anet ET4, Elegoo Neptune, and Elegoo Mars, the printer I find myself circling back to most often is the Elegoo Mars. Because Resin 3D printing often boasts better quality than filament 3D printing and there's no need to constantly re-level the bed, my SLA printer benefits from more use than my FDM 3D printers. However, the one major issue with resin printing is clean up. Admittedly, it's a nasty process. While general post-processing and clean up isn't ideal, it's tolerable especially for the exquisite print quality that resin printing, and the budget-priced Elegoo Mars, affords. But when switching resin, I've been a at a loss for a solution. Now, Elegoo scores another hit with its Elegoo 4 in 1 resin tank kit.
What is the Elegoo 4 in 1 Resin Tank Kit?
A pain point in resin 3D printing is finding affordable spare resin tanks. Often it's possible to find a third-party resin reservoir. Yet sourcing a legitimate, inexpensive tank proves difficult. Elegoo's 4 in 1 resin tank kit seeks to change that. It's essentially a kit of four resin 3D printer tanks complete with FEP fixed on. And at the low price of $30 USD. FEP film is a transparent film employed as the release layer for SLA, LCD, and DLP 3D printers.
Since the 4 in 1 resin tank kit arrives with four tanks that have FEP already affixed, there's no assembly required. Instead, it's simply a plug-and-print process. I was thrilled to have a solution for printing with multiple resins out-of-the-box, instead of having to wait until a previously-used tank was cleaned.
Hands-on With the Elegoo 4 in 1 Resin Tank Kit
Although Elegoo's four in one resin reservoir kit is pretty straightforward, I'm a huge fan. This bundle has successfully revolutionized my 3D printing journey. Previously, I had to wait for a while in between prints until my used reservior was completely cleaned. Especially with switching resin, I ran the risk of contaminating with another color resin. But the 4 in 1 kit allowed me to prep prints. For instance, I printed a Terminator T-800 skill, and while that was printing I sliced a set of Alien eggs, then filled spare resin tank. Therefore, when the Terminator endoskeleton 3D print was finished, I simply removed the print from the build plate, swapped resin tanks, loaded up my sliced print file, and was ready to begin the next print.
If you're printing many items in succession, the 4 in 1 resin reservoir kit is a must-buy. Likewise, for alternating between resins, Elegoo's spare tanks streamline the 3D printing process considerably. Although it's an Elegoo kit, tanks boast compatibility with not only Elegoo's own Mars, but the Anycubic Photon, Longer 3D Orange 10, and most other resin-based 3D printers.
At $30 USD, the Elegoo 4 in 1 resin tank kit is virtually a no-brainer. For just over $7 per tank when you break it down, the resin kit is a truly phenomenal value. Most resin tanks clock in around $40-60 for a single tank. It's refreshing to see Elegoo ushering in affordable, accessible parts for resin 3D printers which retain compatibility with non-Elegoo 3D printers. As such, you don't have to worry about cleaning a tank immediately, although you probably should. Where this truly revolutionizes 3D printing is its simplification of the 3D printing process and drastically reducing the prep time between prints.
Elegoo 4 in 1 Resin Tank Kit - Final Thoughts
I struggle to find anything to criticize about the Elegoo four in one resin reservoir pack. It's shockingly inexpensive, and a true must-own acessory for any serious makers. Heck, at $30 for a set of four resin tanks, it's worth a plunge for even a casual 3D printing enthusiast. Hopefully this trend continues, and more affordable spare 3D printer parts emerge from the likes of Elegoo. When I sat down to review the Elegoo Mars, I frankly went with a high degree of spekticism that a sub-$250 printer could impress me with its print quality, but it hit well above its price bracket. Once again, Elegoo delivers. Don't hesitate, just buy a kit or two.
