The Challenge at DEF CON and Beyond

The RP2350 challenge was notably presented at DEF CON, one of the largest hacking conferences. The microcontroller was incorporated into event badges, and participants were invited to attempt to breach its security during the event. Despite the expertise present, the challenge remains unresolved, with the bounty still available until September 7th, 2024. The challenge involves overcoming the RP2350’s secure boot and other robust security measures, with detailed instructions available on the challenge’s GitHub page.

A Balanced Microcontroller for Makers and Industry

Raspberry Pi's RP2350 microcontroller is a versatile chip that balances security and usability. It features ARM TrustZone technology, providing robust security, yet remaining accessible to the maker community. Raspberry Pi has ensured that the RP2350 can cater to both hobbyists and industry professionals, offering the capability to integrate advanced security features into projects without sacrificing the openness that Raspberry Pi is known for.
