The Make it Smart with Nordic Thingy:91 Contest launches today!

We are kicking off 2022 with one of our coolest contests yet. This time, we've teamed up with Nordic Semiconductor for the Make it Smart with Nordic Thingy:91 contest, and there are prizes to be won!

This contest focuses on the Nordic Thingy:91 cellular IoT development kit, and we've got 50 of them to give away! To participate, you'll need to come up with a cellular IoT project that you can create using the Thingy:91 microcontroller. It's a low-power, LTE-M and NB-IoT development board with a variety of sensors, an onboard battery, and even Bluetooth Low Energy and NFC capabilities!

Once you've come up with your idea, pitch us your proposal via the online form on the contest page. If your project is chosen, you'll receive a free Thingy:91 dev kit and have 8 weeks to complete your project and document it on Electromaker.

The stakes are higher than ever, with $1000 going to the first prize winner, $750 for second place, and $500 for third place. Also, every project that gets published wins a $50 Amazon gift card - so there are more reasons than ever to get your project submitted!

The Edge Impulse Machine Learning Prize

As if that wasn't enough, the lovely folks at Edge Impulse are giving away an Oculus Quest 2 to the project showing the best use of Machine Learning. Luckily, the Thingy:91 is perfectly equipped to work using models trained with Edge Impulse, all that is missing is your idea!
