27 Million mAh Portable Battery Might Be Overkill
Handy Geng's 27,000,000 mAh battery bank might just be the largest 'portable' charger in the world. Featuring 60 mains power sockets on one side, it can charge a regular smartphone up to 5000 times, or as Geng's YouTube video shows, power some entertainment and household appliances while enjoying a little nature.
In a video uploaded on January 29th, Geng, dubbed "China's Useless Edison," shows the build process of turning a battery bank designed for electric vehicles into a comically large power bank modeled on the style of his regular charger.
Handy Geng is no stranger to large-scale projects, and his completely recycled electric car https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBz6voaxh2Q build from last year has garnered over 10 million views on YouTube. Perhaps a more nostalgic build to those of a certain age (Mechwarrior anyone?) is this DIY ridable security mech:
While it seems unlikely a power bank larger than many people's bathrooms will come to the market any time soon, it's nice to know that the batteries powering our vehicles are usable in large-scale DIY projects, even if the battery protection circuitry might be a bit beefier than your average 18650 project might require!
