0x2A Air Quality Sensor Packs Accuracy in Small Form at Embedded World 2025

At Embedded World 2025, early-stage startup 0x2A introduced its ultra-low power platform for indoor air quality sensing. Designed for use in homes, offices, and schools, the system prioritises energy efficiency while maintaining strong performance in a compact form factor.

The current demonstrator showcases the platform as a fully integrated air quality monitor. Built from the ground up with careful component selection, the device offers reliable, real-time readings for a wide range of environmental parameters.

Packed with High-End Sensors for Accurate Data

Rather than compromise on cost, 0x2A integrates high-performance sensors into its compact appliance. The system includes a Senseair CO₂ sensor, a B-Sensor Tech B080 particle sensor, and high-quality temperature and pressure sensors. The pressure sensor, while currently used to adjust CO₂ readings, could be repurposed for other sensing applications—one humorous suggestion was detecting volcanic shockwaves from across the globe.

By combining top-tier components in one unit, 0x2A is offering precision usually found in higher-end or industrial systems, but in a form factor suitable for personal or educational use.

Early-Stage Startup with a Maker-Friendly Future

0x2A is a lean operation—two founders, one full-time team member, and support from students. The team plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign soon to bring their air quality monitors to a wider audience. While still in the early phase, the product's flexibility and practical design suggest potential appeal for developers, hobbyists, and smart home enthusiasts.

Use cases may include indoor CO₂ trend monitoring, school air quality feedback systems, and integration into IoT-based environmental dashboards.

With a focus on accurate sensing and low power consumption, 0x2A is developing a compact, capable indoor air quality monitor. Their upcoming crowdfunding campaign will be worth watching for anyone interested in environmental tech for home or prototyping use.
